I Was A Boy???

Hello everyone, hope your day is going well. Currently I'm sitting on my living room couch watching an episode of The Rockford Files. It's cold and I am hungry. The kids are making bracelets, you know the kits that come with a million pieces? Yes I bought Farrah 2 different ones for Christmas. Now they are arguing over who gets what and what belongs to who!

So over this weekend I was able to complete a few layouts. The first one I would like to show you is titled "I Was A Boy?" Completed for January Oh Baby Challenge over @ Scrapbook.com Gabby saw a picture of herself, but she did not know it was her. Farrah told her that is was her as a baby. Gabby asks her "I was a boy?" Farrah told her that she was not a boy but she just didn't have alot of hair. Which is true, she was born with a nice amount of hair, but it fell out and started to grow into a small, curly afro. I was worried it would never grow but she was still a cute little baby. Now she has hair that I have to keep up 2 or 3 times a week.

I Was A Boy?

Happy, Happy, Happy

Hello everyone how are you guys doing? Just stopping in to make a quick post about 2 layouts. I have joined a few monthly challenges over @ www.scrapbook.com and it's helping me get my pages done and use up products....

Star:

First off this was alot of work. Gabby was playing alone one day with farrah's bracelets and she made a star, she was so excited. I lifted this from December Scrapbook Trends on pg 39 you will find a layout by Ginny Hughes called Making and List...
I loved her banner of random shapes. I included hearts, stars, buttons, foam shapes, circles, sequins, butterflies and more. I suggest using a strong adhesive and working on a hard surface. The base ppr is October Afternoon Sleeping Bag. I used AC Twine to anchor my diecuts, I used a mix of CP On Trend, MME Bluebell, 5th and Frolic, BG Paper Cottage, Pebbles Seen and Noted, Bazzill Half The Edge, Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic and Lily Bee Buttercup. I used several punches from Fiskars, Recollections, EK Success. Mists used were Tattered Angels Rosey, letter stickers by Glitz Designs Tiffany Blue and tags The Paper Company from Joann's. The buttons are random companies.

Naughty and Not Nice:

Each Day

I lifted this from Meghann Andrew's He Waits layout in December Scrapbook Trends on pg 97. Everyday Farrah is well, Farrah, she's silly, eccentric, she loves to dress up and sing silly songs. I used Studio Calico Hexagon mask with Martha Stewart paint in Party Streamer. I layered BG Konnichiwa, Lily Bee Head Over Heels, MME Lavender, SEI Vanilla Fields, Crate Paper On Trend and Studio Calico Basic's collection. I used the number paper to emphasize the "days" theme. I used a mix of MME letter and phrase stickers. The glitter chipboard is Making Memories Jigsaw, I used the same mask and misted with Tattered Angels Electric Blue.

Hello, I have some new layouts to share. Hope everyone is well and haven't been touched by the flu. So far my family has been safe.
Kick'n Snow:

Created for January 2 pic Challange. Got a little too close to Gabby and the pictures came out blurry but I loved them. I ended up using the "Ortonish" filter in Picasa because it looked blah. The base ppr is Crate Paper Random , I used DCWV Shimmer Stack and EK Fancy Flight to make a border. I used Crafters Workshop 6/6 Spilled Hearts template and Adirondack paint dabber in Watermelon. The letter stickers are Making Memories Pink Ledger.

Each Day Is A Gift From God

Pretty In Pink

I created this for January 1 pic layout challange, I also used a Studio Calico sketch. The base ppr is BG Out of Print in Lithograph. I used scraps of Recollections, Bazzill Free Bird & Just The Edge, along with BG Paper Cottage. I used the 6/6 Harlequin Template from The Crafters Workshop and acrylic paint. I took this a few weeks ago of Farrah

Well I must leave you now, happy crafting.

Some Goodies & A Few Layouts...

Hello, it's been a few days since I posted and I have some goodies to share with you and a few layouts. First off I went to Joann's last night and picked up a bunch stamps for a buck each. Every year I tend to grab up the valentine ones that can be used throughout the year, take a look:

Okay so I went a bit crazy on the stamps, hey I had a 40, 50 and 25% off so I came out pretty good! Everything was a $1. I'm in love with hearts, butterflies and flowers so I tend to pick them up first if they are cute.

My Michaels score:

Well not really a score but I thought the new zebra washi tape was cute. I got turquoise and hot pink for $2.99 each, they will probably go on sale next week. The larger pack was $4.99. The heart stamp was $1 and the circle punches were $3.99.

The ppr was $3.99, anyone that knows me knows that I love pinks, teals, hearts, butterflies, flowers and turquoise...

This is called In Bloom by My Minds Eye. Isn't it cute?

Here are a few layouts I worked on in the last few days:

Completed for January Pagemaps Challange #3. As you can see I layered many scraps of ppr from different brands. This was pretty easy to complete. I took these pics of Fay a few months ago.

Completed for January Pagemaps. This is challange #1. I took these of Gabby a few months ago. I loved the pics so much but they are not perfect as the sun is directly behind her. So I decided to turn them black and white and used the warmify filter in Picasa. I've seen other layouts with similar pictures so I said why not and used the pictures. The base ppr is EP The Good Life "That Way". I used scraps of Coordination Aegean Circle & BG for the large ppr strips. The ribbon is AC Everyday Ribbon #2. My photo mat is made from CP Pretty Party. I traced the circle pattern by hand and cut. I used Adirondack in Sunshine Yellow and TCW Mini Dots All Around template. I misted with SC Mint Julep. The pink stickers are Thickers Lullaby Lil Bo Peep.

Sunday, January 6, 2013

This weekend was full of rest, birthday parties, eats @ Denny's and more rest. I created 4 layouts that I would like to share with you that were created for January's Four Categories Challenge.

Can't Help Falling In Love...Focus :blue:

Title inspired by U40's version of I Can't Help Falling In Love With You. I absolutley love that song! Inspired by Hanna Long's "Accessorised" layout in January Scrapbook Trends on pg 116. I loved the design of her layout but altered mine a bit. I created this for January 4 Categories Challange in which the focus was the color blue. The base ppr is from DCWV Summer Stack. I layered a strip of Basic Grey Fiction over it. Then I used EK Embossing Scallops punch with Pink Paislee and created a border. I layered a strip of 5th and Frolic Dreamy Drive. I made my flowers from Paper Shapers 2.25 scalloped punch and DCVW Tre's Chic matstack. The smaller scallops were made from Fiskars Seal of Approval. I used several different stickers for my title and misted with Tattered Angels Festival.

The Wonder Of Snow :focus punching:

This is Gabby having her fun with the snow...
I created this for January 4 Categories Challange #4 was to use punches. I used a small Recollections circle punch, 16mm brad punch by Imaginisce and Apron Lace border punch by Fiskars. I created the tag with EK Tag punch. The base ppr is Bazzill Cupcake Trio (Doodlebug). The photo mat consists of Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic and AC Walnut Grove. My shapes were made from Dear Lizzy 5th adn Frolic, Basic Grey Konnichiwa and other scraps. The smaller stickers are Cosmo Cricket Tiny type, the white stickers are Doodlebug Hopscotch font.

Cold Weather Cutie :focus ribbon:

Hello all. I created this tonight, fairly quickly for January four categories challange. The first was to use ribbon on the layout. The base ppr is BG Paper Cottage Afghan, and the aqua strip is DCWW Spring Stack. The ribbon is American Crafts Everyday 2. My photo mat is made of Crate Paper Lil Bo Peep and the black border is DB Frills. They grey Thickers are Lullaby, the pink stickers are October Afternoon Sno Cone, The green glitter stickers are called Eclair? I got from Target.

I got the inspiration from Pamella Brown's Together layout, found on pg 33 of January Scrapbook Trends.

New Coats, New Boots, Lookin' Cute focus: something new:

#4 in the Four Categories Challenge  this one focused on the "new theme". I centered mine around their new coats and new boots. Might I add I waited until the last minute to get them! The "new" items I used were: AC Remarks letter stickers, Maya Road chipboard banners and Jenni Bowlin label punch. This was very quick, I started layering papers and embellishments and then some misting with Tattered Angels Turquoise Blue. More Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic, Doodlebug Frills in beetle black and Cupcake. The base ppr is Dear Lizzy, 5th & Frolic Lovely Lane. Thanks for looking.

My First Layouts of 2013!!!

Hello and happy new year everyone. I am happy to say that I completed my first 2 layouts last night, take a gander if you will:

Yummy, Fluffy White Snow
I don't know what it is about kids eating snow but as an adult I think it's disgusting. Even when you tell the kids its nasty some don't care and will eat it anyway. The base ppr is DXWV Spring Stack, the ppr is much more toned down, not that intense. I used Martha Stewart Beach Glass in high gloss and 6x6 Crafter's Workshop Hexagon template. I layered Walnut Grove, BG Konnichiwa and Bazzill Just The Edge III and added my photos on top. I used Picasa to edit my picture using the "Cross Process" filter. The stickers are Glitz Designs, Teeny Alpha in Teal Woodgrain. I used Thickers Poolside, which are vinyl. I made the file tab using scraps of Lily Bee and Jenni Bowlin File Tab punch.

Hello, Dream Today

Captured this last fall, love the picture of Gabs attempting to bite the balloon, she had so much fun that day. The base ppr is Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic, I used the die cuts from the Dear Lizzy.

Bonus Layout:

Cabbage Patch

This is one of Studio Calico Sunday Sketches I found from a member on Scrapbook.com today that I figured I'd give a try. It was just Gabby and I yesterday and I got bored so I started snapping pictures of her playing with Farrah's Cabbage Patch doll. She didn't really cooperate to the degree I wanted her to but I still like the pictures. I think I used the "1960's" Filter in Picasa to edit the photo. The base ppr is Heidi Swapp Remember, and the 2 squares were made out of Crate Paper Lil Bo Peep. I used scraps of Sassafrass, DCWV and Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic. The hearts are Melody Ross Chip Art and the colored ones are felt I got from Target last year. The red sticker and pink alpha are Crate Paper Fourteen, the aqua letters are Thickers Patchwork and the gray stickers are October Afternoon.
