Tasty Ice Cream & A Bonus Layout

Happy Saturday everyone. Hope everything is going well. Stopped in to make a quick post. Not much going  on today in my neck of the woods but it's a pretty nice day. I go back to work on Monday (blah). Anywhoo here's a layout that I have been working on and I would love to share with you.

Farrah enjoying her vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate. She loves it that way but I love Culver's Turtle Sundays. So I started off cutting the base paper (Bazzill Wayfarer) down to 8 1/2 x 11. I used a bracket template to make my larger photo mat. I then painted over it using Canary Yellow acrylic paint by Apple Barrel. Then I used Crafter's Workshop Mini Life Shapes template and Adirondack paint dabber in Clover to make the circle pattern. After I let that dry I added the Inky Black spray, Tattered Angels S.W.A.K. and Electric Blue mist.

Other products used:
Echo Park Everyday Eclectic Doily Multi

A Little Juice Love and Some Freeway Driving...

Well good evening everybody. Day 5 of my vacation is winding down and said to say I must return to work on Monday. I had gotten used to being off work. Back to waking up early and getting the kids ready for their day. I didn't do much but burn gas all week and put miles on my car. Yesterday I drove my mother to an appointment. I was adamant that we were going to take her truck AND drive on the freeway. She was beyond scared, she was angry that I disobeyed her by driving on the freeway. Did she actually think I was going to take the street from N. 18th street to S. 113th???? NOT. However on the way home I did take the street because she was so anxious. She NEVER drives the freeway and cannot handle high speeds. Well I had to adjust while driving her Ford Expedition, which is built like a cruise liner, I mean I was nervous myself because I have a smaller car and I am used to certain settings and being able to ACTUALLY SEE when I change lanes. Remind me to buy a car and not a truck when I start car shopping again!

So onto this layout. The story is that whenever we are out, I am very leary about ordering food for Gabby because she is so picky. She will either say she doesn't want anything but juice or anything @ all. She also will have me order a meal, but only eat lets say the apples and dip, but leave her burger sitting there. This day  Gabby, Farrah and I went to Subway and all Gabby wanted was something to drink. Seriously Gabby? I had to ask her multiple times just to make sure that's all she wanted. So Farrah had ordered and sat down to eat and Gabby gulps down her little juicebox and goes to sit by Farrah, who offers her some of her sub. Then Gabby wants to eat so I ordered her food. End of story.

As you can see, I used no pink! I am on a roll. I wanted to try a star banner and it looked so cute in my head but when I put it on paper it didn't speak to me so I added another row and I guess I can live with the outcome. I used a Recollection star punch from Michaels and a variety of papers from Lily Bee Buttercup line. Then I threw some paint and misted with Tattered Angels Electric Blue. As for the photo mat, I didn't want to be wasteful so I used the left over and punched with Fiskar's Upper Crest. I used the new Crafter's Workshop Mini Life Strips (6x6) and dabbed over it with Adirondack dabber in Clover. It looked a little too naked so I added 2 buttons. Have you shopped @ Button's Galore? I must have spent $40 bucks on buttons a few months ago. Yes I love buttons!

Delightful

Day 4 of my vacation and I have finally completed this layout. Remember I couldn't decide on a title right? Well I was in Michael's today about to purchase a pack of Recollections butterfly stamps called "Delightful". Surprisingly they were on clearance for $4.99. I stood in the aisle for a while trying to remember that I'd already purchased them before. Don't you hate that? So after picking them up and putting them down and asking my kids if I had them I decided to put them back and look for them @ home. Low and behold I did have them so no worries. The only issue I have with these cling stamps is that they don't stick well.

I don't have any journaling about this picture of Farrah taken last month I believe. I can't believe she is 8 though; she is growing up quickly. She loves to sing, create and dance and debate LOL.

In other news, I took Gabby for her 4 year old check up. She is doing well and developing on track. So she was going over the eye chart and got everyone correct but when the nurse got to the "hand" she yelled out "FRIES". Come to think of it the hand picture did look like a pack of french fries.

The sticky, icky (the process)
For the picture I used the "1960's" filter. I'm really loving it. For once I DID NOT USE MY SIGNATURE PINK!! It took me out of my comfort zone. My base paper is Basic Gray Flutter from P B & J line. I didn't use alot of ppr on this one but I used both sides of the ppr. Then I stamped with Staz On Jet Black. I got the stamp from Michael's months ago, now you can get it on clearance from $1.99. Then I punched, yes punched all the butterflies from 3 different Martha Stewart butterfly stamps. Classic butterfly, 3 in 1 Classic butterfly and Regal Butterfly are some of my faves that I used on this layout. I used pop dots to adhere them to the page. I then used Tattered Angels in Dragonfly and Shimmerz in Tuscan Sun. I stamped the title and flowers on a sheet from Lily Bee Buttercup and trimmed them out. I added the Thickers in Rainboots and a brad from Basic Gray Urban Prairie line and I was done. PS I can't promise that I will be using color's other than pink but I will try.

A Little Beach Fun

Yesterday the kids and I were supposed to go to Bay Beach with the daycare but @ the last minute I was told that they didn't get enough ppl signed up. The weather was kinda yucky anyway, I went from wanting to go and not wanting. So today I decided to take the kids to the beach and my sis tagged along with us. She left today to go back to Atlanta. We had so much fun and Gabby was very brave, she got in the water like a pro. I remember a few summers ago she hated the water and sand with a passion. No tears today. Here are a few pictures from today. Enjoy and have a good one.

Pretty Girls

Just stopping in to make a quick post. I completed this today while I think about a title for another project I am working on; I put it to the side, I am totally stuck...But this came together pretty quickly, except for letting the paint dry. The picture was taken in June I believe and I've had it in my stash. But I hadn't printed a picture in the size the sketch called for (Studio Calico wkly sketch 8/6/12 I believe). So I used this one instead of printing more pictures.

I used a sketch I found from Studio Calico. The ppr is a mixture of Pebbles Sunnyside, Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic, Amy Tan Sketchbook, and Victoria Park. The paint is Americana Primary Yellow. The base cardstock is Bazzil. Love the color. I used a bunch of different punches from EK Success, Fiskar's and Martha Stewart. Thanks for looking.

Hello Thursday

I have been pretty much excited all week. Why you ask? Because as of 4:30 PM today, I will be on vacation until I return back to work on 8/20/12. Yes I need the break. I "run" all week, work 40 hrs and take care of 2 minor children. I need some rest, sleep, or shut eye as my southern raised family says.

My sis from Atlanta is here visiting so we have to catch up. We hadnt seen her since Christmas '11. She's watching my mom while she recovers from surgery. A while back I mentioned my mother has breast cancer. She's has been doing ok lately. She's up and down. I think she's more settled since my sis has been in town. Keep us in your prayers.

Although I haven't been scrapping because I have been watching Love and Hop Hip Atlanta. See, I dont have cable to I watch when Im @ my mothers or online. I normally don't watch reality shows but this one caught my attention and I've been just a tad bit fixated on the show. Also that hasn't slowed down my shopping. I really do need to put a cap on spending. But I did get some great new CHA products over the past week or so. I love the new MME collections. I had to swoop some of those up. I love paper~ now if I just took the time to organize it....I also got some new Crafter's Workshop templates. Have you seen them? They are gorgeous! I picked up some more glimmer mists and paint. I love paint, haven't you noticed?

I've also been reading books like crazy. I think I've read about 4 or 5 within the last 2 few weeks. I read fast and 1 thing about me if it seems like a really good book and I want to see what happens in the end without taking the time to read the whole thing, I will read the last chapter and work my way back to where I started. Weird right? That's just me lol. Matter of fact I've finished 2 books this week and I'm on to the next. When it's slow @ work I can chill and do data entry.

I actually need to get some more ink for my printer. I find that I run out of yellow, cyan and magenta lately. I chalk that up to most of the kids clothes are bright. It's amazing how much ink you use when you only print a few photo's @ a time. OK I've said a mouthful. Hope your day is going swimmingly. Have a blessed one.

Take It Easy

Yes I have been taking it easy because I have sat on this layout for over a week. It has been done but took forever to pick a title. But just the other day I was driving home and "Take it Easy" by the Eagles played on the radio. I love that song, the music and the lyrics and there was my title.

As you can tell I have fallen in love with paint because I have used it on my last couple pages. For this project I used Camilia Pink and Meadowlark from Martha Stewart. I used Aqua by Craftsmart and the Explosion circle template by Crafter's Workshop. I also used some white. For the banners I used 4/6 white cardstock, a circle dot stamp and Tattered Angel's in a pink and aqua color. I stamped first, then sprayed then punched them out. I used the same ppr for my butterflies. I used a Punch Bunch butterfly. Thanks for looking and happy crafting.
