So we just made it home from bible study, the kids were absolutely terrible. I must admit I have missed months of bible study and church. The kids and I have suffered because I put Jesus to the side and let myself get wrapped up and got off track. I realize our lives are hell without Him so I'm going back to rededicate myself to Christ. I need it, my kids need it, my family needs it. I can't be running around nuts with them LOL, smile.

On another note I have 2 lovely layouts to share of Gabby @ the park playing. Of course that's what children do @ the park right?

Sweet Lil Lady

I finished this one last night. I used a butterfly cutout from my Slice machine and misted several different mists over it and created the butterfly. So cool. I shall start making my own cardstock templates instead of buying them. The base ppr is Basic Grey (Plumeria in Zig). I also used scraps of Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic, Crate Paper On Trend, MME The Sweetest Thing and Echo Park. I used Upper Crest punch to make the dotted swiss border. The pink stickers are Tiny Type by Cosmo Cricket. The Foam letters are Dear Lizzy Thickers in Serendipity. The brown stickers are Teresa Collins Tell Your Story. The "Lady" stickers are glitter chipboard, they are actually a hot pink color. The yellow letter stickers are Basic Grey Kioshi and the number 2 is Basic Grey Origins. Okay now for the mists...Studio Calico Mint Julep and Boss Lady. Tattered Angels Aquamarine, Shimmerz Sunset Strip, Pop Art Pink. The paint is Martha Stewart in Bubblegum.

Down The Slide

I realized AFTER I completed the Lil Lady layout that it looked alot like this layout. I didn't plan it that way believe me it just happened. I love to have alot of white space and layer borders. I also tend to put things on the left side of the page. The base ppr is Glitz Design Hello Friend in Bokeh. The paper strips are BG Soleil in Surfboards, MME Sweetest Thing in Happiness Cheerful & Hello Wishes. The blue stickers are Dear Lizzy in Parakeet. I used 6/6 Chicken Wire template and Studio Calico mist behind the photo. The glitter heart is part of the Doodlebug Sugar Coated adhesive chipboard.

Hey You, Punky Scraps Layout

Okay this is my first time posting on a challenge blog. Here's my layout:

Hey You

1. use of 3 different punches
2. staples
3. masking
4. chevrons
5. 2 patterned papers
6. 1 photo

The base ppr is DCWV Tres Chic. The pattern is Surfboards by Basic Grey Soleil. The butterflies were made using the Jungle Card by slice. I used a mixture of dotted swiss by Bazzill. The Chevron ppr butteriflies were made with a Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly and 3 in 1 butterfly punches and scraps of Crate Paper On Trend. I embossed the brackets with Seeing Spots Cuttlebug folder and cut them with my MCGill bracket punch. Then I smeared some Liquid Pearls in Flamingo. The chevron tape is Queen and Company Trendy Tape. I used staples which you may not be able to see and I used Donna Downey Posie template behind the picture. I got the idea from November Scrapbook Trends pg 41. The layout is called "Follow Your Heart" by Mandie Pierce. I loved the design and the big butterflies.

How Sweet It Is...

Hello and happy Monday. I just drew a blank right now. I have no idea what to write so I will get to the point, I started back making 12 X 12 layouts and I have 1 to share with you:

How Sweet It Is

The base ppr is The Sweetest Thing by MME. The ppr strips @ the top are scraps from Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic. The paint is Craftsmart in Buttercup. The brackets were embossed with Seeing Spots folder from Cuttlebug and the mist is Viva Pink by Tattered Angels

Akwaarrd and On Purpose

Hello and happy Sunday. I'm stopping in for a quick post of 2 layouts I worked on last night. I think these are so funny....

On Purpose

Gabby's silly antics have spilled over into another page LOL. I was snapping and she purposely covered her face with the balloon. Used another SC Sunday Sketch. I used more scraps of Crate Paper On Trend, Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic and some Amy Tan. I made the tab @ the bottom with McGill file tab punch, the stickers are Simple Stories Snap and the big scallop was made using Marvy 3.5 scalloped circle. I lightly sprayed with Tattered Angels Bahama Blue & Cosmos

Awkwaarrd!

Yes I put 2 a's and r's in "awkward". Can you just for a moment imagine saying this word and using extra emphasis while looking @ this picture because that is what is going through my mind as I look @ it. I love this picture because it is out of the norm but not by Gabby's standards because she is out of the norm in her own right. I think its cute and funny that she comes up with cute ways to NOT take a picture but I just had to.

I got the idea for the sketch from Studio Calico Sunday sketch a week or so ago. Also I created it from left over scraps so I will enter in October scraps challenge. I used a mixture of Crate Paper On Trend, Sassafrass Lass, Teresa Collins, Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket and Martha Stewart

Not @ A Stand Still!

Hello and good morning how are you doing? We are well, just adjusting to the sudden switch in cooler weather. Can you believe just a few days ago it was about 70 degrees here in Milwaukee? Well it was and it soon left because for the past day or so it dipped down to about 40 degrees. It is Wisconsin so our weather can change @ a moment. Please don't hesitate to ask questions about the products I used.

Here are 2 creations I most recently completed.

Stand Still

These kids I tell you! Sometimes it's very hard for me to get a good pic of them because 1 or the other will refuse to stand still. Such as the case with these pictures. As you can see in the first Farrah is looking @ Gabby but Gabby's eyes are closed. In the 2nd Farrah is looking @ me but her eyes are closed and Gabby decided she wanted to walk away.

I normally don't do 11x 8.5, I haven't
done them in a long while but I am pleased with this one. I got the inspiration from November's Scrapbook Trends. You can see the layout by Kim Jeffress on pg 22 if you have it. What I loved about it was the design and her large banners. I used a few scraps to make the banners and did some light misting with some spray by Ditto.

She Says

Gabby giving her signature smile. I listed a few of the things she says : Bubblerand instead of rubberband, Pop its instead of Bubblewrap, Teaf instead of Tea and "momma, why you got that?" in reference to any snack item I may have @ the moment.

Ambition and Out Of Breath...

So I'm sitting here watching ABC's new show Nashville about an established country singer who seems to be losing her ground with her audiance while a new up and coming singer is stealing some of her shine. I like the show actually, I couldn't wait until it started. I usually watch shows with some drama to it and it has just enough for me.

I finished this layout tonight. Farrah attempting to start a fire with two sticks she found @ the park. The base paper is Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic and I used the Burst template from Studio Calico (just arrived last wk) and Tattered Angels Aquamarine. I embossed the paper mats with the Honeycomb folder by Cuttlebug and used an EK edge punch to add some detail. After it was glued down I used the a paper piercer to punch holes in half increments and stitched using plain old embroidery floss. As for the die cut, I used EK Scalloped Oval Frame and inked with Prima Teal Damask chalk. I then added my pictures and used EK Swiss Cheese punch to make the confetti.

OK now I must finish my show. I hope you guys have a blessed evening.

I completed this one in under an hr, maybe a half hr. It isn't the greatest photo but I still liked it enough to scrap it. See I'm an everyday scrapping gal. I love to scrap the candid moments as you can tell from my layouts and I just go with the flow. These kids had such a burst of energy that day running up that hill. I just snapped away and the idea to use this picture hit me as I uploaded them to my laptop. I used Teresa Collins Tell Your Story products. The mists are Studio Calico White, Mint Julep and Boss Lady. The blue banner is T. Collins and the ppr layered over it is SEI Black Orchid. The die cut flowers are also T. Collins. The letter Stickers are Glitz Teeny Alpha. As you can see I added a stitch. I chose black because I wanted it to make the photo stand out because of all the light colors.

Hoarded Supplies Anyone???

My weekend has been pretty laid back so far. Yesterday I got bangs, I surprised my mother with some very nice flowers (she was shocked and she loved them.) Totally unexpected for both of us because I was just out and about and saw them and said to myself "these would be really nice". She just went back to work last week after recovering from breast cancer surgery in July. She said she was ready to go back but it was hard, you know after being off work for such a good length of time.

Anywhoo, this page is made up mostly of hoarded items! The background ppr is Heidi Swapp, the large letters are Making Memories Jigsaw, the smaller letters are Glitz designs pink woodgrain, the rub ons are BG Hopscotch, the zig zag shapes were made using EK Zig Zag punch. Those items were never used, I've had them for a while. I've actually had the Zig Zag punch over a year from J's and never used. Well a few months ago I saw it on sale @ J's online and I bought it. Well I went through my goodies and realized I had accidentally bought another one, but not until 2 months AFTER I bought it! Then I quickly shipped it back!

I made this weeks ago but when I scanned it, it was terrible so I took a picture today and finally uploaded it. Im glad the pink showed up pink because the scan made it look pale lavander. Of course this is Farrah playing hopscotch. I used a Delta template to make the check pattern.

Hopscotch

Hand N Hand

I took these about 2 weeks ago and I used the "Orton-ish" filter in Picasa. I swear 1 day I will actually use my Photoshop Elements because I hear it's so cool and I love filters. Of course these are my 2 kiddies on rare occasions where they actually hold hands, Gabby is funny acting @ times though, but I know they love each other.

I used the Poppies template (Donna Downey) and misted with Tattered Angels Sheer mist in Rosy. I punched and embossed the pennants, scalloped circle and the brackets with the Seeing Spot embossing folder for Cuttlbug. The paper is Crate Paper Lil Bo Peep collection called Charlotte. I used the following punches: Marvy Pennent punch, Fiskar's Apron Lace, McGill bracket punch and Fiskar's Pretty Scallops.

Last but not least, my new hairstyle:

Happy Saturday

How is everyone doing? This has been a long week for me, with us being sick on Monday and Farrah being sick again yesterday I just knew I was going to get some sleep last night. Wrong, I crafted till about 3 am. I watched portions of Divorce Court and Smokey and The Bandit~ which was a funny movie by the way. So no I didn't get much sleep. But I have these beautiful creations to boast about....

Fabulous

I started using the MME Sweetest Thing line (Lavander), which I've had for a month or so to quickly put this layout together.  I distressed the edges and inked them. I'm loving the ppr strips right now and I love to cut them into banners. I was hesitant about using such a big title because I didn't want to over shadow my picture but I love it. The punch is by EK Success called Dandelion Burst, cute isn't it? Also that Dear Lizzy heart ribbon is pretty.

Hate, Like, Love

Gabby hated the beach in 2010 with a passion. She did not like the sand or the water. She would cry if she was put down. Well in 2011 she became more comfortable and liked it. Now in 2012 she loves the beach, sand and the water. I used BG Soleil in Rhubarb because it had a beachy, water type feel to it. I used my Swiss Cheese punch to make the confetti then painstakingly adhered it to the page. I used the 6x6 Punchinella template and Raspberry paint dabber, its not perfect but those things arent always easy to use! The ribbon is Dear Lizzy (American Craft's). I started using ribbon a little more. I love to make banners and pennants with them.

How U Guys Play

More confetti and some misting. I used Inky Black (Studio Calico). I want a random splatter but realized there's no random splatter with these mists, not like Tattered Angels, where you can get random. My kids playing on the slide. They love to go down the wrong way. I wanted to capture the look on Gabby's face, it is priceless. I had to enlarge it though but I didn't want a huge picture. My background ppr is Amy Tan Sienna Spirit. I used Crafter's Workshop 6x6 template (Mini Life Stripes) and Sunshine Yellow paint dabber. I used a mixture of Basic Grey, Thicker's and Authentique letter stickers. The tag is Amy Tan Bits and the other mist is SWAK by Tattered Angels.

The Wild Run Free

My children and I have been under the weather for the last few days. I will spare you the dirty details but I attempted to get ready for work yesterday and get the kids ready for school, but I was too sick and had to climb back in the bed. The kids missed school and I missed work. I'm sure Farrah was happy to stay home, she had a stomach ache and Gabby was fine, though she wanted to get dressed. I stayed in bed all day, unable to do much. I tossed and turned all night, and slept maybe 2 hours. I was much better this morning and had to say goodbye to my nice, warm bed. The kids were much better today. I'm usually the last to get sick, it goes from one kid to the next and then me....

But I finished two layouts, one on Sunday night (before I got sick), which hit me like a ton of bricks and unexpectedly  The other I finished today, even though I started on it last weekend. I submitted this to the Use Your Scraps challenge on Scrapbook.com. The base ppr is new but everything else is left over from something. Soon as they hit the park they run, I have to sometimes beg Gabby to stand still and take a picture and Farrah usually doesn't mind.

The banner and flower punch is so cute, It's called Banner Year & Pretty Petals by Fiskar's. I got the chipboard butterfly from Michaels, a whole pack for a buck. The ppr is a mix of Studio Calico, Basic Grey Soleil and Serendipity. The letter stickers are My Lil Shoebox in Rose and chipboard letters are Basic Grey, which I've had for a few years.

I was going to post the other one, however when I scanned it the colors were horrible, so I am going to attempt to take a picture of it tomorrow. You can wait until then right??? Well that is all, I am going to finish watching House on rerun and then maybe Vegas with Dennis Quad and Michael Chicklis.

I'm On A Roll....

Happy Wednesday everyone. I know it's late evening but I wanted to shoot a quick post tonight before I went to bed. Hopefully I can get everything uploaded by 10 pm. It's 9:24 right now. I am sitting in my bed and Gabby is sitting next to me. I told her to go to bed over an hr ago. She is scared to sleep in her own bed...

Ok, so I finished these today, one of each child. They were pretty quick to do, except for the paint drying. By the way, the paint in my "Bliss" layout looks much better wet and not scanned!

Bliss

isn't she a doll. I used the following products:
M. Stewart butterfly border and classic butterfly, embroidery, and heart punch
Teresa Collins Tell Your Story and BG Soleil paper
BG Sweet Threads stickers and brads
Dear Lizzy "Bliss" sticker
Craftsmart paint and some tissue paper

I didn't go too heavy on the paint because of the paper's embellishments.

She Shines
I used a mix of MME, BG Soleil, Fiskar's and EK Success punches. Too many to name and I'm tired
If you have any questions you can just ask

Thanks and have a good night.

Happy Monday

I had kind of a lazy weekend. Saturday we didn't leave the house at all and yesterday I did some washing over my mother's house. I took some pictures of Gabby @ the park but she acted so funky I don't think I have the shots I wanted. Yesterday we spent an hour in the cell phone store just to see what was wrong with my broadband connection. They couldn't find out what was wrong so they gave me a new one. Another thing my Smartphone has been dying out lately even after charging, he told me it was the off brand charger that will drain it. I'm like whatever so I bought a new one. This one isn't doing any better. I will have to get a new battery soon....

I did get some pages done and I had fun making them. They were quick to make, as one was drying I started a new page.

Here is Gabby, Farrah and my sister Meagan back in August this year. We spent some time @ the beach before she had to go home to Atlanta. First I cut the banners out of some scraps. I love the Basic Grey Soleil   line. Then I used Fancy Flight punch by EK Success and punched the top of the banners and inked them. I added some stitching and used Crafter's Workshop template and Raspberry paint dabber. I let that dry and used some mists.

Ahhh, Gabby's first day of K4. At first she really hated it, she cried and cried, and cried. But after the kids had breakfast and a snack she was OK  She gave me a hug and kiss saying that she wasn't going to cry anymore and I left her. I was soooo nervous about her transition  Not that she's not smart enough, but she is smart as a whip. She's been in daycare since 12 wks old and has grown accustomed to the ppl there. She can be a bit funny acting and it takes some getting used to but you've got to know her to know how she operates. She did have a bit of a set back, I took her to school and I didn't expect her to spaz out but she did.

And one final layout of Farrah attempting to swing on the monkey bars. She kept falling but she kept at it. On this one I used Marigold Dreams from SEI. I actually purchased 2 sheets because I loved the other side too. It's a pinkish color and you guy's know pink is my fav. I did some light painting and misting and used up more scraps of the Soleil line. You must get some!
