Studio G is alright for me

My kids have a weird relationship. The little one will hold her arms up to be carried, even though she's going on 4 and shes very heavy. I tell her that I am not going to carry her but my oldest doesn't mind. I always tell her to put her down. The little one still wants to sleep with the bigger one even though she has her own bed.  The inspiration for this LO came from May 2012 Creating Keepsakes. If you have the mag go to pg 77. The picture was originally in color but I wanted to play around with it and do something different. I use Picasa to edit. I have PE 9 but I haven't learned to use it yet so I'll play with Picasa for a while. I used the "vignette" feature and I liked it. I printed it bigger than usual, as I tend to stick with snapshots. When I scaled it down, it lost quality. The ppr is by Studio G, I got from WM last Friday. Mind you I saw the ppr weeks ago but I didn't like it so I passed up. But while I was there on Friday I noticed they had more than one style so I grabbed them all. Hey for a buck you cant beat. Purple is really not my fav color but now I'm easing into it. If you know me, I love butterflies I just didn't want to add more than needed, plus I wanted it clean and simple. I added some journaling in purple and a glitter button from American Crafts. Found @ TJ Maxx for $1.49 2 wks ago. The scalloped punch is Michael's brand Recollections. I was going to add stitching to it but I got tired. I may go back and add later....But probably not LOL. The small letter stickers are from Kaiser Craft. I had to use my WRMK brad setter to set them and they are still crooked. But it gives character and I'm not complainin'. The bigger teal stickers are from October Afternoon. Thanks for looking

Lazy Day

So I woke up @ 5 am something today debating to go to work today. I rolled back over and said to myself I will get up soon. Well 6 am rolled around and I decided it was going to be a sleep in day because I was soooo tired and needed rest. So I called into work and went back to sleep. Gabby got up around 9, I made bacon, eggs and rice. She ate her eggs and some bacon but left he rice there. Farrah stayed in bed til after 11.  Later I decided to do some small retail therapy. Found these beauties @ Michael's. The butterflies were $1, they had scalloped and flower shaped one's but I already have some that I got from Office Depot last year. The letters are Thicker's and the flower's are from Jolee's. They were half off plus I had 20% off so I spent about $13 bucks. Great!

Then I came home and completed this LO of my daughters looking @ wildlife. Farrah (the oldest) wanted to run up and touch it. But Gabby (the youngest) wanted only to look @ it from a distance. I lightly misted the background in pink. I painted and used different punches. Added some buttons, a brad and then I was finished. Thanks for looking.

My daughter, the Jr Creator

Sunday night I let the kids play with my supplies. They both love to use my punches now. Farrah was working on a page with a big sunflower or flower and made some grass and the sky. I was working on a layout where they were watching ducks. One of the pictures didn't mesh well with my page so I gave it to her. A picture of my 2 looking at a duck. I love the warmness of the photo. Gabby (the smallest) did NOT want to get too close to it but Farrah is so adventurous. They both love to cut, color and draw. Thanks for looking.

New 'DO.

I cut my hair. It was a spur of the moment thing. Not really tripping because it will grow right back.

My First Post

I dont really know what I am doing. I've had this blog for several months.

These pictures were taken on the 3/20/12~ the day before the first day a spring. I was really nice outside, about 80 and I was off work. Just a day or so before I found a nature trail near my house and we walked through it. Thought it was a nice place to take pictures. The tape and the buttons are new from Studio G, I got them from Walmart last week. I measured the paper wrong and cut off @ 7 inches so I decided to use the other side of the cardstock and attach a 1.5 inch strip. I spritz with Luminart "Pink Grapefruit". The background paper is from Pink Paislee "Soiree" collection. I used plain old acrylic paint to stamp with and applied to random spots on my cardstock. The scallop border is from Jenni Bowlin, applied paint and stamped. The large banners were cut using the Jet A'dore card from Slice. The pink cardstock is dotted swiss, love the emossed look of it. I added some stitching along the top and bottom banners to frame it. The foam heart is from a foam shape collection from Walmart. The letter stickers are from Cosmo Cricket. Thanks for looking.
